Through our website and work we would like to show you the beauty of the world we live in and the incredible hospitality of the people around the world.
When you get to know us, you will see that “TravelProof” mainly takes the road less traveled, have ZERO (0) plans, extremely small budget and often survives thanks to human kindness and hospitality.
We do our best to create high-quality video and photography content. Our goal is that you enjoy, get inspired and travel.
Our long story in a nutshell
- 2011
University magic
Anton and Plamena met on a student party while studying in the university.
Shortly after they started traveling together in Bulgaria by hitch-hiking and doing wild-camping and hiking across the country.
- 2012
Fly away
Anton goes to United States as part of work and travel student program. He has his first meetings with students from all over the world and understands how important and enriching traveling is.
Plamena waits him in Bulgaria, while working on her master’s degree.
- 2013 - 2014
The big decision
Plamena decides to go after her biggest dream. Anton decides to go with her.
Both leave to England where they join volunteering organisation and work 1 year there as part of their preparation for the volunteer mission in Africa.
- 2014-2015
It's time for Africa
Plamena’s dream came true!
In the end of 2014 they both leave to Africa and work as a volunteers in Zambia. Their work is placed in the rural areas of the country. Anton and Plamena live and work shoulder to shoulder with the Bemba tribe, without constant running water and electricity for the period of six months.
This important stage of their lives is described in their first published book called “Steps Into the Unknown” (Стъпки към Непознатото).
- 2015-2016
Work hard, save harder
It was more difficult than ever for Anton and Plamena to get back to “normal” life after the life-changing experience in Zambia.
Just a few months after returning from Africa, both decide to work in England for several months in order to save money for another adventure.
- 2016
Arriving in the land of the miracles
Anton and Plamena’s expedition in South America starts from Chile and ends in Colombia, after crossing 10 000 km.
Their adventure takes them through jungles, deserts, snow-capped mountains and even to the Holywood’s scene!
This epic adventure is described in their book “Steps Into the Unknown” (Стъпки към Непознатото)
- 2017
Life with agenda
It was time to create a family and begin something unknown to Anton and Plamena until this moment – the life with agenda.
Both started working for a Japanese company in the automotive industry.
- 2018
Welcome Eva and the promise
Plamena gave birth to Eva on 17.05.2018 in Sliven, Bulgaria.
The family starts dreaming again to hit the road, when Eva grows up a little bit. They make a promise to themselves for an epic family travel.
The first adventure of Eva is when she is only 2 months old in Stara Planina mountain, Bulgaria.
- 2019
Explore Bulgaria
The young family completes various hiking routes in the Bulgarian mountains.
Anton carries Eva in a kid carrier backpack most of the time.
They get to know and understand the beauty of their own country, but the distance voice for something bigger keeps haunting them.
- 2020
Eva meets the child trailer
The family decides to start traveling with a child trailer throughout Bulgaria.
Eva immediately falls in love with this style of traveling.
- 2021
The big bang year and the end of "Agenda life"
The family published their first book “Steps into the Unknown” (Стъпки към Непознатото) available only in Bulgarian language. The book is about the adventures in South America and Africa.
Together with Eva, on a child trailer the family crossed Rhodope and Strandzha mountains, which was preparation for a longer expedition.
In the end of the year Anton and Plamena decided to leave their corporate life behind and begin a long cycling expedition with Eva through the lands of Central America. They called the expedition “Cycle into the unknown”.
- 2022
Cycle into the unknown
Anton, Plamena and Eva are still traveling through Central America. In 2022 they have cycled and explored the lands of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
The family goal is to reach Panama in the end of 2022 and to document their travel through “Cycle into the Unknown” documentary episodes.
